Antonio, a computer engineer, suffers a burnout and takes refuge in the mountains where he meets a forest ranger and his girlfriend. Thanks to them he will regain a taste for life, but certainly not as he had imagined it. The Ranger takes him to a rave in the woods where Antonio, who had never been to such a party before, discovers that he is also the drug dealer in the surrounding area. Margherita, the Ranger’s girlfriend, with whom he has an “open” relationship, also begins an affair with Antonio, who, however, does not quite find himself in polyamory. To make matters worse, the Ranger invites Antonio to participate in the business of an illegal computer farm hidden in a valley. Antonio wants to know nothing about it, but, eventually, the desire to help Margherita – also involved – convinces him. Antonio’s knowledge soon leads him to become the king of the business, but also to regain all the cravings – money and power – that had led to his burnout. Everyone makes a lot of money and life becomes a wonderful succession of parties and inebriation. Margherita, one euphoric evening, gives an ecstasy pill to her elderly mother, who, in her dementia, has been mistreating her for some time, and sends her into a coma. Although the mephistophelean Ranger tries to convince her that she is the victim and not her mother, remorse, which knows no alternative truth, begins to haunt her. At the end of yet another rave in the woods, Margherita crashes her car. Antonio, naively, declares that he wants to leave, but the Ranger has evidence of all his illegalities. Antonio, then, finds impulses in himself that he just did not know: he even manages to throw the Ranger into a ravine. The Ranger, however, is not dead….
